Green Sanctuary Task Force of UUCRV
NAME OF GROUP Green Sanctuary Task Force PURPOSE: The Green Sanctuary Task Force, in accordance with the Unitarian Universalist 7th Principle, will work to promote awareness of and encourage action on environmental issues. In furtherance of this purpose, the Task Force will; A. Work towards achieving Green Sanctuary Accreditation by the UU Ministry for Earth. B. Continually assess and update our environmental action plan and monitor its execution. RESPONSIBILITIES OF TASK FORCE MEMBERS 1. ALL: Participate in regular meetings. 2. Task Force Chair: Notify participants of meeting time, prepare agenda, monitor progress of task force projects/assignments and lead meeting. QUALIFICATIONS FOR TASK FORCE MEMBERS: 1 .Commitment to the mission of the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Rock Valley (UUCRV). 2. Ability to work as a team member. 3. Ability and willingness to give support to other task force members and congregants. AMOUNT OF TIME REQUIRED Average 4 hours per month (one meeting plus preparation time). WHEN MINISTRY IS PERFORMED Task Force members will meet at a time convenient for all. LENGTH OF COMMITMENT Variable. TRAINING PROVIDED 1 .Green Sanctuary Handbook 2. Resources of the UU Ministry for Earth 3. Other appropriate reading materials 4. Task Force member information sharing. RESPONSIBLE TO: Other members of the Task Force, collegially. SUPPORT PROVIDED: 1 .The support and encouragement of other members of the Task Force. 2. The personal and professional support of the congregation's minister. 3. A response to your requests for training and / or information that you believe is needed to fulfill your position and make it a rewarding and growth-filled one for you. 4. Welcome and respect for your suggestions and opinions regarding the Task Force and the total ministry of the congregation. 5. Orientation and mentoring for new Task Force members. |
