Unitarian Universalism
The roots of Unitarian Universalism in North America go back to the independent and self-governing churches of colonial New England. From Europe our heritage reaches back to religious and social reformers in England, Poland, and Transylvania, Romania.
Today our church is affiliated with the Unitarian Universalist Association of Congregations out of Boston, MA. The UUA has more than 1,000 member societies throughout the world. As a member of this association, we affirm the UU principles to support:
- the inherent worth and dignity of every person
- justice, equity, and compassion in human relations
- acceptance of one another and encouragement to spiritual growth in our congregations
- a free and responsible search for truth and meaning
- the right of conscience and the use of the democratic process within our congregation and in society at large
- a world community with peace, liberty, and justice for all
- respect for the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part.
